Goals for September

First, checking in on August’s goals:

Celebrate Halfway to 70. The day came. I hung out with friends. I’m 35 now.

Transparency. I made a little bit of progress.

Workout 5x per week. I think I achieved this except for the last week of August when I had a day when I was unexplainably tired and ended up taking it easy for the rest of the week. But if I count Divvy rides as workouts, then I nailed it.

Fast Women / Strong Women. So, I think I figured out a “name” for the project or idea or whatever that is rolling around in my head. Haven’t done anything with it though.

Finish paying off loan. And maybe take out another one. We finished paying off the loan (eight months early!) but we still have a lot of debt and plan to pay off some of it with a no-interest credit card.

So. It was a month. I didn’t read any books. I did, however, hit 103 miles!!  66 running and 36 cycling. (DailyMile rounds off miles.) And it was my second-highest mileage running month this year. (I ran 67 miles in May.)

Non-running

Goals for September:

Go to Seattle! The tickets are already purchased. Hopefully, it happens this time. This was originally planned for April and we pushed it back.

Do another race! Already registered 🙂

Read a book. I’ll be up in the air for like 8-9 hours total.

Run 80 miles. I’m planning to do the F3 Half in January so I want to start base-building before starting a training plan. So I can comfortably do something more than Hal Higdon’s Novice plan.

Create a vision. This is an actual goal with substance. I’ve been feeling somewhat unsatisfied and unfulfilled by my life lately. It hasn’t been totally clear to me how to improve things, so, I have to start making some effort and envisioning what might make me happier.

What do you hope to accomplish in September?

  1. apparently it happens to others too, haven’t got the change to read much this summer but I’ve got in some good mileage. Not bad after all, long winter ahead here in Toronto hehe. You look quite active, congrats on the runs and races! Cheers, Vic

  2. My September goal includes more me-time. Focusing back in on my health. I want to achieve the Apple Health “perfect month” where I reach my goals daily so that started Friday. So far, going strong! lol

I am lucky in I’m able to listen to a lot of audiobooks while I work, so I’ve listened to quite a few lately, what’s your preferred genre?

  3. Seattle! Oh man, I’m so jealous. I have family out in Seattle, so I’ve been plenty of times, but it’s been a year since my last trip and I’m itching to get out there again ASAP (plus, part of that family is my 94 and 96 year old grandma and grandpa, so I like to get out there as often as possible while I still have the chance). I’m planning on going next June, but I’d really like to sneak in another trip before that if possible. Anyway, it’s the greatest city in the country as far as I’m concerned, and I hope you have a FABULOUS time! Definitely get the clam chowder at Ivar’s on the sound – it’s the best in the entire world.
