Three Things Thursday

I have been waking up with pain in my right arm every morning since CLLAWOops. We even did a warm up before the event, but I guess I didn’t warm up enough (or stay warm) throughout the event. Anyway, if I take some ibuprofen and stretch out/warm up my elbow, and the pain doesn’t return until the next morning.  But if I do CLLAW again, I’m going to host some arm wrestling parties leading up to it to better work those muscles.


Kathmandu YogiI still plan to write a whole post about how awesome the Fear Paradox Summit was last week, however, I wanted to give a shout out to one of the vendors. There were a few women-owned vendors/small business owners with tables at the event. I chatted with the owner of Kathmandu Yogi for a little bit, and ended up buying a couple mala bracelets (one for me, one for a friend). Everything she sells is fair trade and ethically made by female artisans living in Nepal. Not only is her stuff beautiful, but it felt good knowing that I was supporting women with my purchase.

Upcoming Races. I haven’t had much in the way of a race schedule in awhile, but my husband was talking about the races he was interested in doing, and I think we might sign up for (or … think about) these races:


What races do you have coming up?
Are you willing to pay more to support certain businesses – small or local or woman-owned or benefitting a certain cause? I tried to do all my holiday shopping last year at locally-owned businesses within a few miles of my home.
Have you ever unexpectedly injured yourself or had soreness? I once injured my wrist playing soccer when another player kicked the ball almost directly into my wrist.  Was not expecting that.

  1. More races yay! We are thinking about doing the Snow Fun Run again this year since we had a blast last year!

    Hope your arm feels better soon! It seems like arm wrestling is a pretty unique combo of muscles so it would be hard to train for it just in a gym so your idea of practicing with others seems like a great plan!

    I don’t have any races on the calendar and I’m really enjoying not training for anything.

  3. The Chicago Marathon is obviously the next big race on my calendar, but I’m doing the Chicago Half before that, and will mostly likely do the Jingle Bell Run again in December as well. Oh, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas in November (the half, not the full). I couldn’t do it last year since my foot was injured, so fingers crossed for a healthy marathon season this year so I can run!
