Five Things Friday

Earlier this week, I worked out with personal trainer Chris Abbott of Evolution Strength & Performance. He has a unique approach to fitness which includes focusing on posture and breathing (sometimes into a balloon) to improve body alignment and ultimately performance. Really interesting for me given my issues with my left knee, which my PT said is caused by weakness and tightness on my right side … which left me wondering why one side and not the other? Some of the exercises we did focused on opening up one side and bringing in more oxygen. Firmoo sent me a new pair of specs. They’re not too different than my usual pair, but I loving the tortoise style … really matches my hair. It’s good to have options for an accessory I wear front and center every day.


As I mentioned in my sangria recipe post, last weekend was my brother and sister-in-law’s “Cinco” de Mayo party. Complete with a pinata and fire hoop. We lucked out with perfect weather too.

Work is super crazy right now. Three (of seven) people on my team are currently out for a paternity/maternity leave. But let’s reminice about better times when we had our company conference and rented out Bub City for some “team building.”

I was not a team player and did not do live band karaoke. I’ll take off my clothes on stage, but singing? Nope. I know what I’m good at.
