So. I rested for 10 days. No running. No biking. No Pilates. Just some swimming. (And packing. And unpacking.)
And then I ran 5 miles. Five measely miles! At an easy pace! (Although after 10 days of not much cardio, it didn’t feel very easy.) And my knee is still having issues. I plan to have it looked at as soon as I can this week. I’m guessing running Ragnar this weekend is probably a bad idea, so I’m trying to find a sub. (Maybe that’s you? Maybe you have a friend who would run 3 legs totaling 14.7 miles on the Wurst Ragnar Team Ever?) And icing my knee as much as I can. Like every other runner who has ever dealt with any kind of injury, to say I’m bummed is an understatement.
Anywho. It was a good month otherwise.
We met a new baby, she belongs to Paula (and her hubby kins). And we all went out for Cinco de Mayo.
Putting the FUN in fundraising at Bottle & Bottega.
Lana del Rey, and getting dolled up with my bestie for a night out.
I Divvy’d a lot. I made it to Pint Night for the first time this year.
Packing up the old place
Settling into the new place
First time in my adult life that I biked more miles than I ran.
Checking in on my 2014 goals:
Weekly Strength Workouts: I did 2. Didn’t want to further aggravate the #EmoKnee.
Bi-weekly Fun Workouts: None. However, with all the burlesque classes I took already this year, I’m covered. I’m also wondering if dancing in heels contributed to #EmoKnee.
Read 12 Books: I started a new book, but didn’t get very far. But I’ll be honest, I’m up to level 70-something on Candy Crush Saga.
Host Something Once a Month: Was too wrapped up in packing up the apartment. But now that we have a new place to show off, hopefully we’ll host stuff.
Volunteer: The Bottle & Bottega fundraiser ended up being successful, mostly thanks to BFF Genevieve. And in case you missed it, I’m doing a Swirlgear raffle right now. And you can support me AND Anne on July 27 at Revolt Against Cancer! Or you can always buy an I Run With Fast Women shirt! Maybe I can’t run, but at least I can keep fundraising! (AKA give me money to cheer me up.)
