Monday: Rest.

Tuesday: 3.3mi in 32min, 9:38 pace.

Wednesday: Rest.

Thursday: 3.3mi in 31min, 9:27 pace.

Friday: Rest.

Saturday: Run #1 – 5.8mi in 55min, 9:29 pace – Swallow Cliff trail fun run. Run #2 – 3.1mi in 28min, 9:02 pace.

Sunday: 30min of arms/core at the gym, then headed to a local trail for 3.8mi in 49min, 13:05 pace. (Stopped for pictures, and to let a goose family cross my path. Twice.)

Total miles: 19
Total time: 4hr, 15min

Sunday’s run – bottom right is one of the goose families that I had to patiently wait to pass lest I get hissed at (and chased). 

Notes:

  • We’re in full-on apartment-hunting mode (SO FUN. NOT.) Some of the rest days were because of apartment showings, or taking care of stuff that needs to get done before we move. So far, we’ve seen two unimpressive apartments and had two failed showings (one was an uncooperative tenant and the other was already rented). We’ve decided to bump up our maximum rent a little bit. 
  • Saturday’s fun run was just what I needed. I’ve been feeling a bit unmotivated after missing my goal half and then recovering from my stomach bug two weeks ago. Saturday was great – perfect weather, fun group, I ran with a few friends from my club who are a little bit fast for my easy runs (which is all I’ve been doing lately), but I can keep up, and with some of my sluggish runs lately, running with them was a good confidence builder.
  • Saturday’s second run and Sunday’s run were good for Ragnar – I ran in the middle of the day, when it was sunny and temps were in the 70-80s. Two of my three Ragnar legs will probably fall right around lunchtime.

  2. Looks like you had some pretty trail runs! I am so jealous you got to see some goslings close up. They’ve been evading me this spring. I agree with not wanting to mess with a mama goose, though–they can be really mean. Good luck with the apartment hunting–I hope you and your hubby can find something that you love!

  3. Great job on the double run Saturday! I meant to do the same thing and then got sidetracked and never got around to it! Excuses, excuses!! Never thought about purposely running in the heat to prepare for Ragnar. I’ve been running when it’s hot but never thought about middle of the day running!
