Monday: 20min elliptical (hills), 30min weights & strength

Tuesday: 6mi in about an hour. Went to Blogger Night at Road Runner Sports (we’re kind of a big deal, I guess), and did 3mi solo before a 3mi fun run.

Wednesday: 7mi in 1:01, 8:39 pace. 6mi easy, 1mi at 10K pace.

Thursday: Rest

Friday: 4.04mi in 37min, 9:04 pace

Saturday: 3mi walking

Sunday: 4.97mi in 39:10, 7:53 pace. Shamrock Shuffle.

Blogger Night – Testing out Mizunos; Lauren, Erin, Kelly, Amanda, me, Sierra before our fun run.

Notes:

  • Coach Vera has been putting a lot of at-home strength on my schedule. Planks, push ups, walls sits, lunges, glute lifts … and I’ve been slacking on those. Trying to work on that this week. 
  • Mizuno was at the Blogger Night, and the rep told me they are discontinuing the Wave Nirvanas, which I wear. So, if any other Wave Nirvana fans are reading this, stock up. They are replacing them with the Paradox, I believe. I forgot what he said about how those will compare to the Nirvanas. But I’ll be interested to test them out. At least Brooks still makes Adrenalines, my other favorite shoe.
  • I’m running the Quarryman 10 this weekend, and I’m really excited! This race has been on my radar for a couple years, and I almost ran it last year, but it got rained out. 2012 “participants” got a discount on this year’s races, and the 10 mile distance fits in nicely with my training for the First Midwest Half. And, I’m honestly excited about the hills. They make you strong. I won’t be racing this race, but my 10mi PR pace isn’t super fast, so I still have a shot at PRing and keeping my coach happy.
