Yesterday was a beautiful day. Warm temps (at least, in the south suburbs), and the sun even came out briefly.
This morning it’s back down into the 40s. As I got off the train near my office, I noticed the sky was getting dark. And the wind was really picking up. It was kind of creepy and I quickly walked to my office before the inevitable rain started.
As I approached the door I use to get into my building, I noticed the light was on in one co-worker’s office and her blinds were up. And that another co-worker was in her office, sitting by the window. By then, it was starting to thunder, it was creepy-dark outside, and the wind was blowing, and they had the light on so they probably couldn’t see outside very well.
So I decided to surprise them and jump in front of the window, and because it’s an old building, when I put my hands up on the glass, the outer pane rattled.
And success! I scared the crap out of my co-workers! One threw her hands up and screamed, the other (who was closest to the window), literally jumped out of his chair.
The only thing that would have made it better if it was Halloween.
So, thank you impending thunderstorm, for giving me the perfect opportunity to scare the bejebus out of my friends.
I was looking for an actual picture of rain to include with this post, and searched my Flickr and found another day that I liked the rain … in 2009 when I was at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, and took shelter with Death. Even Death doesn’t want to get wet.
In other news, did you hear that Olive had her first date via Google Hangout? The lucky guy was Data.
The date part didn’t last very long, but Kim and I chatted for a bit before I had to sign off and do our taxes.
Hey, this post references both death and taxes … I am certain that I should end this now.
