The Sailor is home!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  • Ragnar! We’re doing Madison to Chicago in June. Today was our first team meeting, unfortunately due to some interesting circumstances, only 2/3 of our team was there. My team being: me, Kelly, Kelly, Sara, Amanda, Kate, Kate, Suzanne, Lisa. We’re doing a 9 person team. Luckily two of our team members are Ragnar veterans. So far we’ve figured out how we’re going to divide up the legs, but moreΒ importantly, while we have ideas, we don’t yet have a team name.Β
  • This week’s goal was to run 5 times. Last week I only ran once, and for this training cycle (goal half is May 5), I’d like to run 5 times a week. Normally I do 4 runs per week, so this is taking it up a notch. So this week, I didn’t care about my pace (so no speedwork), and I didn’t want to go crazy with any long runs (since I’m still 11 weeks out and don’t need my long runs to be very long just yet), I just want to get my body used to running 5 times/week. But I only got in one strength workout. I’d like to get in 2-3 per week, which is what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks/months. So that’s also something to work on.
  • MY HUSBAND IS HOME! In case you’re just stopping by, he was gone for two weeks for Navy stuff. (I have no idea what he does when he’s on duty … I assume this.)

  1. Aww! That is great your husband is home πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I think I hit my sweet spot with running 5+x a week and strength 2x with the occasional cross training. I am curious to hear how it works for you since we are all so different! πŸ™‚
