Dinner – “World’s Best Chicken” (it was good but I don’t know if it’s the best) and roasted broccoli (I would, however, deem this the World’s Best Broccoli)

Friday night baking: Two versions of cornbread. Recipes forthcoming.

Kim and I (pictured above, source: Katie) planned a Chicago Running Bloggers holiday party hosted by Erin. (Since Kim is far north and I’m far south and Erin is right in the middle.) The party included a 3-mile run in the rain, a pot luck lunch …

Saturday night was an annual Christmas party hosted by our friends. It includes a pretty serious White Elephant gift exchange, which included more than one creepy doll this year. I went home with the box of plastic fruit, which has made a few reappearances at this party. This year, the fruit was accompanied by an iPod shuffle.

Mostly boring day, but I took my new iPod with me on a 10 mile run. The first time in probably over two years that I listened to music while running outdoors.

The weekend from another perspective …

Why are you making all this cornbread when I’m … so … hungry …

(Don’t tell Olive I cheated on her with another cat.)

  1. Yes! I need a weekend recap from Olive EVERY weekend. May I ask for a daily recap?

Yay for multiple parties! And thanks for organizing the Chicago Bloggers one and putting up with my craziness 😉

    1. I think we should plan a get together every month …. maybe some aren’t as “involved” as this, and are just meeting for lunch or dinner in the city or something, but still, this is a fun group of ladies that I want to see more often!

  2. Awww, the pictures of Olive are just adorable!!! It looks like you had an absolutely fantastic weekend. It was so good to see you this past weekend! And please do share the recipe for the broccoli – I am always in need of ways to make vegetables more palatable!!!
