I’m competing in my third match with CLLAW this Saturday night! It’s going to be a hoot. Not one but two of my burlesque friends (aka … friends) are wrestling for the first time. This event seems to be a mash up of burlesquers (and the burlesque-adjacent), roller derbians (derbiers? derby-doers?), and thespians. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Costumes, characters, performing, physical strength, competition. Anywho. You should come watch.

Last Saturday night, I performed in my first burlesque show of 2018, my 39th burlesque show ever (damn … really wanted that to be a milestone number), but it was a really special show, because it was my first non-student show that was mostly my peer-group. Meaning, performers who have been at it for as long as I have, who took classes around the same time I did, who did student shows with me, etc. It was a lot of fun to see how far we’ve all come. Plus, the audience was amazing. Great turnout, and they were super loud and generous with their cheers and hoots and hollers.

And on that note, I’ve been talking about how I want to go to grad school, sooner rather than later, and guess who has barely cracked a GMAT test prep book, not yet registered to take the test, not started on an application? Can’t imagine what I’ve been filling my time with instead … at least I’ve been having fun 🙂
