2012 in Photos

To put it in Cubs terms, 2012 was a rebuilding year. Meaning, we didn’t do a lot of big fun exciting things. Our focus was on becoming more financially stable. But some highlights of the year:

We rang in the new year with friends.
New Years Eve

Won my age group at the Midwinter Cruise 5K.

Won my age group at the Jingle Bell 5K.

I’ve noticed in my life for the past few years that the most significant changes happen during the odd years (2007 = we got married, 2009 = husband enlisted in the Navy, 2011 = moved in with my parents).

So, once again, an even year was pretty quiet for us. The biggest news of the year for me was major changes at work  (which I don’t really talk about on here) and running the marathon. While I wish 2012 included reaching our goal of homeownership, or at least having a place of our own again, that didn’t happen. And as Cubs fans say … there’s always next year.

  1. I love that dress you are wearing at your cousin’s wedding. And I still tell people I got a pedicure with Sara Hall – even though she was sitting next to me and I was too chicken to say hello:) Happy 2013!

  2. Looks like a great year! The calm, stable years are always the best and I would trade some of the hectic-ness (that’s not even a word) for peace and quiet. Based on your rationale, 2013 will be a great year because it’s an odd number 🙂 I found that my years seem to correlate to how my New Year’s Eve went – the shittier (pardon my French) the celebration, the shittier the year!

  3. Great pics. I know a place of your own is ideal, but enjoy the savings of living at the parents. Mortgages sure are a pain! 🙂 By the way, nice office. It beats my cubicle by a mile!

    1. Some days, I feel like I’m too comfortable living with my parents. Plus my mom and I might be getting to the point where it’s doing more harm than good to our relationship to be under the same roof. We love each other dearly; I think it’s just easier to love each other when we have a buffer.

  4. Radiohead in concert?! I’m super jealous. Our first fight after we got married was over me singing along too loudly to “Creep” while my husband was trying to sleep on a road trip. How could I not sing along loudly? Ruuuuuuuuuuuuun. Kind of impossible. Good luck with your house goal this year!
